‘We have to fight back,’ hundreds gather to protest ICE arrest of Pro Palestinian Mahmoud Khalil

 

Hundreds of protesters gathered in lower Manhattan on March 10 to protest against the arrest of Columbia University student-activist Mahmoud Khalil. Holding signs that read "Hands off our Students" and chanting "Release Mahmoud Khalil Now" the protesters gathered in Federal Plaza. On March 08 evening, agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security arrested Khalil, a graduate student at Columbia's University. The arrest was part of as part of U.S. President Donald Trump's crackdown on some anti-Israel protesters. Since his arrest, Khalil has been moved to a federal jail for migrants in Louisiana to await deportation proceedings, according to a US detainee database.
